sonic enhancement

Terms from Statistics for HCI: Making Sense of Quantitative Data

A way to make clicking an onscreen button more evident by adding sound to simulate a physical effect. More generally, many aspects of an interface can be enhanced by additional audio feedback, such as the crunching paper sound that some systems use when a file is thrown into the (desktop) trash bin. While sometimes provided for aesthetic reasons, this may also add feedback.
